The summer heat may have begun to wear us down in Phoenix and probably across the Southwest, but Southern Hospitality in Savannah is as warm as it ever was. Fall is a great time of year to visit Georgia’s first city; there’s a bunch of great outdoor events and festivals that take place each year in and around the city. Here are some of the most popular things to do in Savannah during the fall.
The Savannah Jazz Festival
If you love the smooth rhythms of jazz, Savannah is the place to be in late September. The ever-popular Savannah Jazz Festival takes place at the Habersham Village Shops under the outdoor tent. Sit back, relax and enjoy smooth Jazz performances by a variety of talented musicians. Free concerts will also take place at Forsyth Park on the bandstand, in Savannah’s beautiful historic district. Get your tickets and find out more by visiting savannahjazzfestival.org.
Come for the bratwurst and beer, stay for the fun and festivities that include wiener dog races, keg roll and beer stein races, live entertainment and art exhibitions. There will also be a beer garden offering a variety of beers, food vendors and much more at the this Annual Oktoberfest. The event takes place at Savannah’s beautiful Historic Riverfront on River Street in early October. This festival has free admission.
